Pathankot District, the northernmost district of Punjab was formed on 27 July 2011, after being carved out from Gurdaspur district. Pathankot serves as the district headquarters. Pathankot is located in the foothills of Shivalk Hills. It share International Border with Narowal District of Pakistani Punjab. It shares its border with Jammu & Kashmir & Himachal Pardesh. Two main rivers of Punjab Raavi & Beas pass through the district.
